    1. As-salamu alaykum.

There have many scholars of the past who have written about the special characteristics of the Prophet Himself, which no one from his nation or the previous nations share. These scholars are our Salafi.

The hadith used as a proof for this topic is found in the 2nd most authentic book on the planet after the Quran-Sahih Al-Bukhari.

Ibn `Abbas said, “The Prophet (ﷺ) slept till he snored and then prayed (or probably lay till his breath sounds were heard and then got up and prayed).” Ibn `Abbas added: “I stayed overnight in the house of my aunt, Maimuna, the Prophet (ﷺ) slept for a part of the night, and late in the night, he got up and performed ablution from a hanging water skin, a light (perfect) ablution and stood up for the prayer. I, too, performed a similar ablution, then I went and stood on his left. He drew me to his right and prayed as much as Allah wished, and again lay and slept till his breath sounds were heard. Later on the Mu’adh-dhin (call maker for the prayer) came to him and informed him that it was time for Prayer. The Prophet (ﷺ) went with him for the prayer without performing a new ablution.” (Sufyan said to `Amr that some people said, “The eyes of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) sleep but his heart does not sleep.” (refer to hadith number 138)

If you notice in the hadith is says that His(ﷺ) snoring was heard and he woke up the second time and went the masjid to pray without performing Wudu.

Imam An-Nawawi (641H) said: This is a special trait of the Messenger. He can sleep lying down and this actions wouldn’t break his wudu,as his eyes sleep, but not his heart. Refer to explanation of Muslim)

The article has a reference from a Scholar of the Salaf, one in Ibn Hajr(852H) teachers, known as Ibn Mulaqqin or Ibn Nahwi. Please re-read the article until its end!

      As-salamu alaykum
