Socially Relevant Verdicts for Muslims in the West (part 4 )

Zayd Ibn Muhammad ibn Hadee Al-Madkhalee(May Allah have mercy on him)

1.Question: Is it permissible for a woman residing in the land of Kufr to go out by herself to the marketplace?

Answer: If she feels she’ll be safe from Fitnah, then okay. However the entire land of disbelief is a fitnah. Therefore she should have a man from her family; such as her husband, son, brother, uncle and so forth go with her to the market. She shouldn’t place herself in harm’s way. Additionally, she mustn’t go out the marketplace unless it is a necessity. And the duties to maintain the home fall on the men.

2.Question: When my son sneezes my kufr parents say to him “God Bless you”. What is the response for this?

Answer: This isn’t a mentioned supplication (in the Quran and Sunnah). The dua that has been mentioned is yarhamukallah –May Allah have mercy on you” The disbelievers don’t know about Islam. Don’t reply to their supplications. Have this child praise Allah and then trust in Him.

3.Question: Is it a must to sit and complete the Thikr after the prayers? And if a person is in a hurry can he complete them while walking or standing?

Answer: If the person is in a hurry it isn’t required for him to remain sitting. He can do the specified invocations of Allah while walking, riding, or inside his home and regardless he will be rewarded for this act. And Allah knows best.

4.Question: Is it true that the last limb to die is the eyes? And this is because the eyes follow the soul when it exits.

Answer: It has been mentioned in a hadeeth that when souls is taken the eyes follow it.

5.Question: Is it permissible for a woman to wear a wig?

Answer: No, this falls into the category of connecting (false ) hair with (real ) hair. Therefore this act is prohibited. The women must avoid wearing wigs and they should be happy with the hair Allah has given them.
