Simple Daily Deeds for Jannah

All praises are due solely to Allah the Most High and The Most Merciful. We ask Allah to bestow His peace and blessings on Muhammad, His Family and those who follow their path until the Trumpet   is blown.

There are 24 hours in day where so many windows of opportunity exist for us to gain an entrance into Paradise. We are all striving for Allah’s Pleasure and yearning that moment to see His Face in Jannah. So, we need to reflect on how we are today as Muslims, since yesterday has past and we aren’t certain about tomorrow. Hasan Al-Basri said :”The world is three days: As for yesterday, it has vanished ,along with all that was in it .As for tomorrow, you may never see it. As for today, it is yours so work in it.

How amazing is the wisdom of our Salaf! So following Hasan Al-Basri’s advice I decided to compile a simple daily deeds manual for Jannah. The hadith in it are from Bukhari,Muslim,Abu Dawud,At-Tirmithi,An-Nisa’I,Ibn Majah, and the Musnad Imam Ahmed. For the Ahadith’s authenticate status outside of Bukhari and Muslim I relied on Imam Shaykh Al-Albani’s judgment without detailing all scholars who collected the hadith. Lastly I recommend that if you use this manual, you begin with what’s easy for you to practice until you become consistent with it, then practice another deed, rather than trying to do everything in one day from the beginning.  The Prophet’s (ﷺ) said: “The most beloved deeds to Allah are the most regular and constant even if it were not many.”[1]

Compiled and Presented from your brother in Islam in need of Allah’s Mercy.

  1. Dying today with your Tawheed intact

The Prophet (ﷺ) told Mua’dh ibn Jabal:” Whoever dies without giving one of Allah’s rights to anyone or anything will enter Jannah.[2]

  1. Safeguarding the Fajr and Asr prayers in their proper timings

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: Whoever safeguards the Fajr and Asr prayer will enter Jannah.[3]

  1. Praying the 5 daily prayers correctly

A man came to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) asking him about Islam, Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “You have to offer five compulsory prayers in a day and a night (24 hours).” The man asked, “Is there any more compulsory prayers for me?” Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “No, unless you like to offer Nawafil (i.e. optional prayers……So, the man departed saying, “By Allah I will neither do more nor less than that.” Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If he is sincere in what he’s saying, he will be successful.”[4]

  1. After Fajr and Asr seek Allah’s Forgiveness with the most superior wording.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is: ‘Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta. Khalaqtani wa ana `Abduka, wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa Wa’dika mastata’tu A’uidhu bika min sharri ma sana’tu  abu’u Laka bi ni ‘matika wa abu’u Laka bidhanbi; faghfirli fa’innahu la yaghfiru-dh-dhunuba ill a anta..’ If somebody recites this invocation during the night, and if he should die then, he will go to Paradise (or he will be from the people of Paradise). And if he recites it in the morning, and if he should die on the same day, he will have the same fate.”[5]

  1. Obey the Prophet’s Commands and practice  His Sunnah; and avoid the things he prohibited.

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” They said, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! Who will refuse?” He said, “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it).”[6]

  1. Repeating  after the Mu’adhdhin

The Messenger of Allah () said: When the Mu’adhdhin says: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and one of you should make this response: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; (and when the Mu’adhdhin) says: I testify that there is no god but Allah, one should respond: I testify that there is no god but Allah, and when he says: I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, one should make a response: I testify that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger. When he (the Mu’adhdhin) says: Come to prayer, one should make a response: There is no might and no power except with Allah. When he (the Mu’adhdhin) says: Come to salvation, one should respond: There is no might and no power except with Allah, and when he (the Mu’adhdhin) says: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, then make a response: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. When he (the Mu’adhdhin) says: There is no god but Allah, and he who makes a re- sponse from the heart: There is no god but Allah, he will enter Paradise.[Muslim 876]

7. After the daily prayers say,(Tasbeeh,Tamheed,Takbir) 10 times and before bed-time  glorify and praise Allah 100 times.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are two qualities or characteristics which will not be returned by any Muslim without his entering Paradise. While they are easy, those who act upon them are few. One should say: “Glory be to Allah” ten times after every prayer, “Praise be to Allah” ten times and “Allah is Most Great” ten times. That is a hundred and fifty on the tongue, but one thousand and five hundred on the scale. When he goes to bed, he should say: “Allah is Most Great” thirty-four times, “Praise be to Allah” thirty-three times, and Glory be to Allah thirty-three times, for that is a hundred on the tongue and a thousand on the scale. (He said:) I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) counting them on his hand.

The people asked: Messenger of Allah! How is it that while they are easy, those who act upon them are few?

He replied: The Devil comes to one of you when he goes to bed and he makes him sleep, before he utters them, and he comes to him while he is engaged in prayer and calls a need to his mind before he utters them.

That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever dies and he is free of three: Kibr (Pride), Ghulul, and debt, he will enter paradise.”[8]

9.Avoid backbiting, tale-carrying, slandering, cursing, and haraam sexual relations today

10.Praying the Rawatib along with Obligatory prayers daily

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever persists in praying twelve rak’ahs each day and night will enter Paradise: Four before Zuhr and two after, two rak’ahs after Maghrib, two rak’ahs after Isha’ and two rak’ahs before Fajr.'”[10]

11.Do righteous deeds throughout day. You never know when your soul will depart from your body

“Whoever says Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, seeking the Countenance of Allaah thereby, and that is the last of his deeds, will enter Paradise. Whoever fasts a day desiring Allah’s Reward and this is the last of his deeds that day will enter Jannah, Whoever gives charity sincerely seeking to earn Allah’s Pleasure and that is the last of his deeds will enter Paradise.”[11]

12.Pray four Rakat before and after Thur

Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever prays four before Thur and four after it, Allah makes him prohibited for the fire.”[12]

13.Throughout the day ask Allah for Jannah and seek refuge in Him from Hell three times.

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated the Messenger of Allah said: “ Whoever asks Allah for Jannah three times, Paradise says, “ Oh Allah enter him into Jannah. Whoever seeks protection with Allah from Hell three times, Jahanim says, “ Oh Allah protect him from the Fire.”[13]

    • Wa alaykum As-salam,

sure Akhi, there are various way to say the thikr after the obligatory prayers and sometimes the prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم ) did it one way and other times another. Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen said to follow the sunnah it’s better to do certain acts of sunnah one way and at other times a different. Your question is similar to the various wordings mentioned for the opening prayer after Takbir Al-Ihram. There are various wordings for it,and as long as the wording reported come from authentic hadith then you can use anyone you like. Here are 5 various ways to make dua after the prayer from authentic hadith. The 5 Various Ways to Say Thikr after Obligatory Prayers
