  7. Asalaamu Alaika
    Dear Brother,
Is it proper to call a masjid by the name of “salafi masjid” ? I’m asking because I have not come across that term in any books I have read. Please advise.
    Baaraka Allahu Feeka

    1. و عليكم السلام و رحمة الله و بركاته
I am not in a position to say if its correct or incorrect, however my thoughts are the same as yours, which is none of the Salaf titled masajid as salafi. Moreover it appears that if this title or term were to be used then it would have be given to the 3 holiest masajid in the Dunya. i.e Mecca, Madina and Aqsa. Furthermore, its usage today is only being applied to places where a chosen and select few gather. I believe there is a list out which restricts Salafi Masajid in the UK at 17, and in the USA at 20 or less or more. The masajid are the houses of Allah.

There’s some questions we can ask those who name everything they touch Salafi.

What are the conditions for a masjid to be salafi?

There’s an athar I believe from AL-Awza’i : Stop where the people stopped, and say the things they said. Follow the way of the Salaf for verily whatever sufficed them will suffice you.
      و الله تعالى أعلم
