The Torah Accuses Haroon(Aaron) of Creating the Golden Calf
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In Exodus 32 of King James it states that Prophet Aaron Created the idol of the Golden Calf.
“And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 2And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD. 6And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.”
And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing:…
And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? 22And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. 23For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 24And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.
25And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
Imam Ibn Hazm said: Aaron a Prophet sent to the Children of Israel would intentionally make a deity for his people to worship other than Allah, and then tell that tomorrow is , “ The Feast to the Lord”! Then along with that tell them ,and assist them in bringing burnt and peace offerings to an idol in the form of calf! Moreover to add insult to injury, Aaron would then tell them dance and sing in front of this idol!
This is strange and amazing, a prophet would call the people he’s been sent to, to practice polytheism, or that an idol of a calf would appear without Aaron intending that to happen!! If that were the case the Moses would have been among those who approved the worship of this cursed idol. You see the disregard of the scoundrel who made up this fable attacking the Prophets (e) and more pathetic is you see people believing this foolishness is from Moses, a Messenger that Allah spoke to directly to. May Allah grant us safety.
The Quran which is undistorted tells the story the way it really happened.
Allah said: And the people of Musa (Moses) made in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of a calf (for worship). It had a sound (as if it was mooing). Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to the way? They took it for worship and they were Zalimun (wrong-doers). [7-148]
Allah said:They said: “We broke not the promise to you, of our own will, but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the [Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh)] people, then we cast them (into the fire), and that was what As-Samiri suggested.”88. Then he took out (of the fire) for them a statue of a calf which seemed to low. They said: “This is your ilah (god), and the ilah (god) of Musa (Moses), but [Musa (Moses)] has forgotten (his god).’” 89. Did they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good? 90. And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: “O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order.” 91. They said: “We will not stop worshipping it (i.e. the calf), until Musa (Moses) returns to us.” 92. [Musa (Moses)] said: “O Harun (Aaron)! What stopped you when you saw them going astray; 93. “That you followed me not (according to my advice to you)? Have you then disobeyed my order?” 94. He [Harun (Aaron)] said: “O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard, nor by my head! Verily, I feared lest you should say: ‘You have caused a division among the Children of Israel, and you have not respected my word!’ “[20:87-94]
Allah said: “O son of my mother! Indeed the people judged me weak and were about to kill me, ..” [7:150]
This is what really happened, The misguudied Samiri was the only one who made the calf and as for Aaron then he tried his best to prevent them from doing so, but they disobeyed him and were about to kill him.
