The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said : Among the signs that show one has perfect faith is he doesn’t involve himself in matters that don’t concern him.[1]
The General meaning of the Hadith
This hadith teaches us that some Muslims have a good solid faith due to their regular obedience to Allah. Their avoidance of sins and doubtful matters result in their perfection of faith. Then, there are other Muslims that have deficiencies in their faith. Their Islam hasn’t reached the level of complete excellence.
When the Muslim only occupies himself with things that are beneficial in his religious and worldly affairs this shows he has perfect faith. The Muslim with perfect faith doesn’t busy himself with idle talk and fruitless actions.
It’s been said that time is like sword if you don’t cut it, then it will cut you. This means that if you do not busy yourself with productive activities you will be cut off from all good. In the end you will feel regret and be heartbroken.

Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Anhu) used to say I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whatever I prohibited you from then avoid it. “Whatever I commanded you to do then do it as much you can. Without a doubt the previous nations before you were destroyed as result of their excessive questioning and differing with their Prophets.”[1]
The general meaning of the hadeeth:
This hadith serves as a guiding principle among the principles of Islam. Many Muslims fall into danger due to their negligence, or their misunderstanding of this hadith. The Prophet (ﷺ) has divided the commands and prohibitions into two categories. Prohibited on us under all circumstances without exception. This means it is Haraam , so we must avoid it and stay clear of it. There is absolutely no justification allowing us to do it.
Many people disobey the Messenger of Allah by not avoiding what He(ﷺ) has prohibited. Some people knowingly practice the prohibitions following their evil desires. This is something that is shameful and hated. We hope that their intellect will overcome their whims and desires. Other people try to scrutinize what Allah has forbidden based on misconceptions. Hence, they do sinful deeds without regret, or any concern. These kinds of people are the worst of sinners, and rarely do they repent.
The second category includes Allah’s commands. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do them as much as you are able. This is similar to the statement of Allah, “ Allah doesn’t burden a soul beyond its capacity.”[2:286] This means that every obligation a person doesn’t have the ability to do can leave it off. In fact, every requirement that is extremely difficult to meet becomes null and void on you. This is why it is allowed for the sick person and the traveler to break their fast during Ramadan. It is disliked for a sick person and a traveler to fast if it causes them trouble.
The Prophet (ﷺ) explained why in his statement, “The previous nations before you were destroyed due to their excessive questioning and differing with their Prophets.” Here He (ﷺ) explained that questioning things not mentioned in the Quran and in the Sunnah beyond need led to their destruction. This kind of questioning can imply extreme enquires in matters in order to show your knowledge in an affair, or show the public the person being asked is unable to answer. Moreover, asking questions involving he said and she said to spark debates that lead to fighting, disputing and enmity causes destruction.
The guideline the Salaf used when being asked about matters unfound in the Quran and the Sunnah was to make sure the incident happened first. Then they would strive to answer it correctly. They would say, “This is my opinion in this matter. If it is correct then it is from Allah and if it incorrect then it is on me. Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ) are free from this error.

What makes a cult? In this book you will learn everything you need to know to identify if you, or a loved one are part of the Neo Salafy cult movement. The specifics of their manipulation, bullying and mind-control tactics are outlined. Along with this their propaganda, belief system, and various inconsistencies are highlighted. The Neo Salafy Cult has become drastically weakened due to their inability to reply to their errors, or just ignore them. Since their faults are vividly described in this book you will be armed with a better understanding of what orthodox Islam is versus a Cult.
The Cult Fallacy: Deconstructing the Strategy and Propaganda of the Neo Salafy Cult Movement is a collection of 4 essays which are detailed, supported by evidences and facts to tackle the cult’s movement. The case study began in 2010 and was concluded in 2018. Although the case was closed and many people left the movement, yet some still remained behind and others are joining being unaware of the real plot and the agenda of this group. Over a 30-year period this cult’s movement has destroyed communities, lives, and wrecked families. Attached to this group is an alarming rate of apostasy from Islam itself for some, while other people have gone to other extremes of joining other cults outside of Islam.
Since the awareness campaign began in 2014, there has been a large amount of people who are able to completely identify them as a cult. This happened after they became aware of and read the firm literature describing the characteristics of a cult. Hence, other works might have remained undisclosed to a few. For that reason, I decided to place everything in one book for a simple reference point. At the end of this book there are some of the countless testimonies I have collected over the years of some people who left the cult, and then went on to become better human beings in society and achieve higher levels education, and stability in their life. I ask Allah to save us, our spouses and our children from being misled by doubts and desires.
