The Differences between the Callers to Guidance and the Callers to Misguidance

Social media influencers and motivational speakers have placed themselves in the ranks of being callers to guidance, yet in reality don’t have any to traits that gives them the right to called so. Unfortunately, many people are being misled by such individuals; hence the need arises to shed light on some the traits of a caller to guidance.

  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah are inheritors of the Prophets.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah are like the lights from lanterns.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah invite people to follow the road to guidance and warn them against the paths of ruin and destruction.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah call people to the oneness of Allah , with sincerity in worship and at the same time warn them from joining partners with Allah in all forms and fashion.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah invite people to follow the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in speech, action and belief.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah warn against all types of innovation.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah refute the people of innovation and desires along with their corrupt opinions and deviated methodologies.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah reject all misconceptions of the texts and ignorant misinterpretations.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah teach the people the pillars of Islam and its slogans.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah explain to the people the differences between what’s lawful (Halal) and what’s not (Haraam).
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah give religious edicts to people and aide in solving their problems.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah invite people unity based on the Quran and Sunnah, while warning from splitting and differing.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah warn people from partisanship and the newly spread innovated methodologies.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah call people to follow the Quran and the Sunnah and warn people from following desires and Satan.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah call people to listen and obey their governments’ leadership so long as it doesn’t result in sinning.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah call people to refrain from verbally and physically revolting against Muslim governments.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah give a portion of their time to educate people in the things that benefit them; by either giving Fatawa, teaching, advising and giving guidance.
  • The callers of guidance from Ahulus Sunnah call people to follow the path of the Prophet (ﷺ) in their dawah. They begin by teaching Tawheed, then other important matters in suit.

These characteristics are found in the callers to guidance from Ahlus sunnah; hence when the opposites of these are found in preachers, influencers and callers then you should be on the alert and avoid them.

  • The callers to misguidance call people to follow a path other than the Prophet in their dawah. They don’t focus on Tawheed, but primary focus on political issues or the trending subjects at that time.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t spend their time educating people in things that benefit them
  • The callers to misguidance incite people to revolt against Muslim leadership, either physically or verbally.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t invite their audiences to hear and obey their Muslim leaders in obedience to Allah.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t invite people to follow the Quran and the Sunnah in accordance to the understanding of the Salaf.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t warn against partisanship. In fact, they invite others to grouping, splitting and differing.
  • The callers to misguidance give religious edicts that cause problems and confusion.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t educate their followers the differences between Halal and Haraam.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t teach people basic fiqh issues related to worship and the pillars of Islam.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t refute the people of innovation and desires along with their corrupt opinions and deviated methodologies.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t warn against all types of innovation.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t invite people to follow the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in speech, action and belief. Instead, they summon people to follow them or their figureheads.
  • The callers to misguidance don’t call people to the oneness of Allah , with sincerity in worship and at the same time don’t warn them from joining partners with Allah in all forms and fashion.
